The mission of BCTV is to
enhance the unity and strength of the community by
providing:
• a medium for community dialogue and educational
opportunities
• a source of information of local, national and
international origin
• a forum for the exchange of ideas on issues and topics of
community interest.
BCTV’s goal is to improve the quality of life for the people of Reading and Berks County by encouraging dialogue among diverse segments of the community on a variety of topics. Through live interactive programs produced by volunteers, BCTV brings to the community the best possible educational and informational programs, and provides a unique opportunity for volunteer activities.
BCTV is interested in presenting compelling programming to the Greater Reading region. We are interested in a lively, multi-faceted community dialogue. However, we do not allow commercial enterprises to use BCTV as an advertising outlet.
Producing a monthly program takes a lot of preparation and creative thinking. Your attention to completing this questionnaire as specifically as possible will help us evaluate your program idea and your ability to carry it out. If you do not fill out the questionnaire completely it will be returned to you for completion; this will delay the evaluation process.
All program proposals are evaluated for approval for a half-hour pilot first. After that, your program will be further evaluated. You may be asked to submit more information before approval for an ongoing slot.
Producer training sessions: All producers will be required to meet with the Program Director. If you cannot, your program will be put on hold until you or your host are able to. Veteran hosts will be asked to meet with the Program Director periodically.
Time slots: Evening time slots are the most popular on BCTV therefore not always available. We will work with you in scheduling your program.
