Reading School District urges early enrollment

The Reading School District is encouraging parents to register their children as soon as possible for the 2010-2011 year.

Help is available at the Reading Opportunity Center for Children (ROCC) at 800 Penn St.

Here is information from the center:

Is your child a new or returning student to the Reading School District?

If so, enrolling in June, July or early August will expedite your enrollment process!

Paperwork needed for enrollment:

  • Current immunization records
  • Child's birth certificate
  • Proof of residence (lease, utility bill, mortgage)
  • Parent/Guardian identification

Enrollment Hours: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

On October 1, 2009, the district had 1,948 children in kindergarten programs, 8,512 children in grades one to six, and 7,409 in grades seven to 12, for a total enrollment of 17,869.
