The PASSHE GIS Consortium and Affiliates Group has awarded Kutztown University professor Robert N. Martin as one of two winners in its inaugural Outstanding Contribution to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Education in Pennsylvania award.
The award will be presented to Professor Martin and Millersville University's Chuck Geiger at the Pennsylvania Geographical Society Conference Dinner on November 4.
Professor Martin is being recognized for his many years of cutting-edge GIS instruction - and for the many graduates who have gone on to have successful careers in GIS-related fields.
GIS enable faculty of PASSHE universities to communicate ideas, exchange data and skills and to share research dealing involving (GIS) and related geospatial technologies.
Martin joined Kutztown University in 1984.
