Desha Dickson became director of volunteer services.

James L. Rosenberg became interim executive vice president and chief operating officer. He has left.

Desha Dickson has been named director of volunteer services at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Dickson will direct and coordinate volunteer services for the hospital and serve as the liaison to The Friends of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, its standing committees, and fundraising projects including the overall direction and operation of its three gift shops.

Dickson had served as the vice president of community impact at the United Way of Greater High Point in High Point, N.C., since 2006.

She has also been an online instructor for the University of Phoenix since 2009, teaching "Financial Management for Human Service Managers" and "Skills for Learning in an Information Age."

From 2005 to 2006, Dickson was the program coordinator for the Chester County Department of Community Development.

Before that, she worked for the Montgomery County Community Action Development Commission, first as a community services case manager from 2001-2003, and then as director of community services from 2003-2004.

Dickson earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from West Chester University and her master's degree in nonprofit management from Eastern University, in St. David's.
