Beginning Monday, January 9, patients will begin to occupy the five levels of state-of-the art, aesthetically-pleasing patient rooms in the new Reading HealthPlex for Advanced Surgical & Patient Care. The lower levels of the 476,000-square-foot Reading HealthPlex opened in October 2016.

The five levels include 150 private rooms. Reading HealthPlex’s advanced technology, unique layout and quiet, private rooms combine to provide a setting that enhances patient healing as well as patient and family comfort – all with a focus on health and wellness.

Patient rooms in the new facility have views of the HealthPlex’s green roof, which is the largest of its kind in Pennsylvania and the third largest green roof on a healthcare building in the United States.

The lower levels of Reading HealthPlex combine the hospital’s many surgical services into one of the most sophisticated surgical centers in the region. The new building also expands the existing Emergency Department and Trauma Center.

Reading HealthPlex combines first-rate technology, leading-edge facility design and highly skilled, compassionate care to provide medical services that advance health and transform lives for people in Berks County and beyond.
