Presented by the Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC) and partnering with PBS39, the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” video contest gave students in Berks and Schuylkill Counties the opportunity to connect directly with local manufacturers, document their experiences and present them in an educational and “cool” way. The contest was created to generate excitement that draws students towards manufacturing career paths.
“The students and teachers have been working since November meeting with manufactures and filming and editing their videos.” Says Karen Buck, Manager of Workforce Initiatives at Manufacturers Resource Center. “We encourage everyone to view the videos and vote. This project was designed to raise awareness of different manufacturing career opportunities in an exciting way for our students!” Principal Corporate Team members include MRC, PBS39, DaVinci Science Center, Berks Business Education Coalition and Sahl Communications, Inc.
