Reading Public Library To Celebrate “Teen Tech Week”

Reading, PA  –   Reading Public Library’s Teen Department will take part in the Young Adult Library Services Association’s annual Teen Tech Week event from March 6 through March 11.

Teen Tech Week is when libraries make the time to showcase all of the great digital resources and services that are available to help teens succeed in school and prepare for college and 21st century careers.  This year’s theme, “Be the Source of Change,” encourages teens to take advantage of these resources to make a positive change in their life and community.

A new activity will be featured each week day at the Main branch, 100 S. Fifth St beginning at 4:30 pm.  They include creating and programming robots, a discussion of the science fiction anthology The Starry Rift by James Tiptree, Jr., and a STEAM project centered on creating a mini mural.  Also planned are a program titled Ultimate Secret Lab: Experiment with Chemistry and a special movie showing of the military sci-fi movie, Ender’s Game.

All events are free of charge and registration is not required.
