First Annual Women’s Forum – “Modern Day Suffrage: At the Table”

The Berks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women will hold its First Annual Women’s Forum on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the IMAX Theater, 30 North 2nd Street in Reading.

“Modern Day Suffrage: At the Table” will be the topic for the panel discussion that will include: 

State Senator Judy Schwank, 11th District 

State Representatives Leanne Krueger-Braneky, District 161 Delaware County

Mary Jo Daley, District 148 Montgomery County

Joanna McClinton, District 191 Delaware and Philadelphia Counties

former Reading Mayor Karen A. Miller 

Laura Quick, President, Teens 2 Heroes, Emerge PA Alumna

Candace Stitzman, Chair of the Women’s Caucus of the state Democratic Party. 

Stephanie Towles will be the moderator. 

The panel will explore the next logical step in suffrage for women: there should be no laws about women without women.

The mission of Berks Democratic Women is to promote the appointment & election of Democratic women to responsible positions within all branches of government, to encourage the advancement of women in both the public and private sectors, and to advocate the principles of the Democratic Party.
