The Pennsylvania Economy League will hold a Civic Leadership Education program entitled “Behind the Numbers of PA School District Property Tax Reform” on Thursday, May 4 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Berkshire Country Club, Reading.

Efforts to reform property taxes in Pennsylvania by reducing or eliminating the amount of real estate taxes that fund local school districts has been a hot button issue for the last several years. Join us as State Sen. David Argall, a proponent of reforms, outlines his position, and Mark Ryan of the Commonwealth’s Independent Fiscal Office provides background information and a non-partisan presentation of the methods and options being considered. The IFO provides revenue projections for use in the state budget process along with impartial and timely analysis of fiscal, economic and budgetary issues to assist Commonwealth residents and the General Assembly in their evaluation of policy decisions.

The program is open to the public and includes a breakfast buffet. Cost is $20. Registration is available at www.pelcentral.org.  For more information, call 570-824-3559 or email [email protected].

For over 80 years,PEL has provided fact-based insight through its Civic Leadership Education events to inform government officials, business leaders and the general community on key public policy issues and serve as a catalyst for change. PEL is a non-profit, non-partisan statewide organization.
