Annville, Pa. (May 2, 2017) – Women’s Lacrosse seniors Abby McCarthy and Bailey Stover were named to the All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team, announced Monday by the Middle Atlantic Office.
McCarthy is appearing on the All-Conference team for the second time in her career, being named Second Team in 2016. Stover is receiving her third All-Conference nod, being named Honorable Mention in 2015 and Second Team in 2016.
McCarthy, an attack, capped off her senior campaign with a team-high 39 goals, 15 assists and 54 total points. McCarthy notched her 100th career goal early in the season on a five goal night in a 13-9 victory over Manhattanville. She wraps up her career with 124 goals across 61 games with 174 total points. McCarthy sits in the Alvernia record book in five offensive categories, including 4th in assists per game (.754), tied for 4th in assists (50), 7th in goals per game (2.0) and total points, and 8th in goals.
Stover, a defender, rounded out her senior season with a team-high 41 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers. Stover became the Alvernia career forced turnover leader a week ago, reaching 101 in a 20-16 win over conference-rival Arcadia. She finishes her career with 164 ground balls, 7 draw controls, and 103 caused turnovers. Stover has also tacked on a trio of goals. She sits in the Alvernia record book ranked 1st in caused turnovers, 3rd in caused turnovers per game, and 4th in ground balls.
