Ellen Albright Promoted to Director of Workforce & Education

The Greater Reading Chamber & Economic Development Corporation (GRCEDC) is pleased to announce that Ellen Albright has been promoted to Director of Workforce & Education.  In this position, Albright will take a leadership role in coordinating the GRCEDC’s involvement in various workforce and educational initiatives designed to support our business constituency and promote an effective talent development strategy for Berks County.

Albright will develop and implement our annual signature events connected to our scope of work in education and workforce development including:

Building Bridges: Business & Educator SymposiumBusiness Idea ChallengeCareer Prep: Workshop & FairCHOICES – facilitate classroom presenter training & schedulingYoung Leadership ConferenceSpecial Workforce Development & Education Initiatives i.e. STEM Competition JudgesCareerLink Summer Internship Opportunities

She will validate employers’ workforce hiring and training need requirements including types of positions/careers, education/certification requirements and work place skills/readiness, so that we align the workforce pipeline to the public and private resources available.  Albright will also establish relationships and promote workforce pipeline strategy with businesses, community volunteers, school districts, institutes of higher education, the Workforce Development Board, Berks Business Education Coalition, Berks County Intermediate Unit and any other relevant partners.  Previously, Albright’s role was Communications Coordinator at the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry and was responsible for marketing and communication functions.
