The best is yet to come for the Greater Reading/Berks Region

Schlouch provided a guided bus tour for public officials. A big thanks to Tom Masano for providing the van

It was a privilege to coordinate a gathering with officials Wednesday from the City of Reading, Alsace and Lower Alsace Townships to celebrate the ground breaking for the reconstruction and paving project with the addition of a bike and walking lane on Skyline Drive.

A big thanks to our tax payers for making this possible, the great collaboration between the City of Reading, Alsace, and Lower Alsace, and the support of Representatives Barry Jozwiak, Mark Rozzi, Tom Caltagirone and Senator Judy Schwank for securing the grant funding.

Schlouch earned the project award through the open public competitive bidding with the lowest responsible bid. The project consists of milling, reconstruction, base repair, paving overlays, and stone wall repair for Skyline Drive which leads to the Pagoda.

70% of the construction jobs will be performed by local Schlouch workers and subs that reside throughout Reading and Berks County.

Schlouch and its crews are grateful to be part of a landmark project that we all can be proud of for generations to come.
