On Wednesday June 21 from 6:00-8:30 pm we will have a variety of activities scheduled for all ages.

Features of the evening include “Grandpop Bubbles” who will bring all his gear so kids and kids at heart can make the biggest bubbles of their lives!  Then join “Drew and the Blue” at the campfire where they will entertain us with the sounds of blues, rock and oldies during the evening.

Two interpretive walks to the Deppen Cemetery will be led by Parks volunteer Gary Shugar at 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm.  The story of the cemetery and its connection to the Irish immigrants who built the Union Canal will be shared.

Members of the Berks County Amateur Astronomical Society will be on hand with their solar lens telescopes to view the sun and discuss the upcoming solar eclipse on August 21.

An evening “Yoga Hike” led by “Porcupine Pat” McKinney of the Schuylkill Conservation District, 6:30pm to 7:30 pm,  will help you unwind, relax and manage your stress. Please wear comfortable clothes.

Throughout the evening there will be craft stations, and light refreshments offered.  The Snack Bar will be open for hot dogs and ice cream.

Registration is requested by calling 610-374-8839.  This free program is presented by the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department.  Donations are welcome.  For more information, call 610-374-8839, visit www.countyofberks.com/parks or check us out on Facebook.
