For immediate release –Rescheduled from 2016. Now in its 47th year, The Reading Pops Orchestra continues their mission to promote the musical arts in Reading and Berks County through public concerts, and to educate on different musical art forms. Under the direction of conductor Will Rapp, the orchestra presents “America The Beautiful: A Salute to Our Country.”
The cornerstone work for this concert will feature guest soloist Jill Haley with her “National Park Landscapes Suite,” a collection of 4 pieces celebrating the centennial anniversary of our National Parks. Two of the movements of the Suite were written while Jill was an Artist in Residence at Mesa Verde and Badlands National Parks. www.jillhaley.com
Members of the Hamburg Area High School Band and Orchestra will be performing alongside members of the Reading Pops Orchestra in the side-by-side portion of this concert. The Reading Pops Orchestra will also present a variety of selections paying tribute to American Music, including marches and Broadway favorites.
