Painting by M. Jaffry

Along with her own paintings and prints, Marilyn J. Fox, Kutztown, will be presenting a sampling of art by Mohamed Jaffry,  an artist from Tanzania, East Africa. An open studio and sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 10, from 8 – 4, and Sunday June 11, from noon – 4 p.,m., or by appointment.

Born and raised in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, Jaffry developed his own particular naive styles of painting. His subjects, created from memory of his homeland, include themes from his village, African motifs, and the daily lives of the Tanzania people. He creates scenes of tribal festivities, people at work, and the brightly colored patterns of the culture he recalls.

Marilyn Fox, an award winning artist, is displaying and selling a variety of her own work, including 70 paintings as well as print, and works on paper. Known for her landscape and still life paintings, she is pleased to add Jaffry’s work to the mix.

The open studio and sale is at Fox’s studio located at 447 Normal Ave., Kutztown, Pa 19530.

For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please contact: Marilyn Fox at: [email protected] or text 610.698.2519.
