Murali Coryell kicks off Bandshell Concert Series with blues-flavored Rock/Soul

READING, PA–On Friday, July 7, Berks Arts Council opens the 27th annual Bandshell Concert Series with the Blues, Soul, Jazz, and Pop of Murali Coryell. Last fall, Coryell released his ninth album Mr. Senator, which Guitar Player Magazine calls “delightfully bluesy Rock and Soul.” The son of jazz guitar legend Larry Coryell, the younger Coryell says it was “somewhat inevitable” that he would become a musician. Being held by Hendrix, living with Santana, and dinners with Miles Davis are part of his unique story that has been growing since before he was born. Coryell has been inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame and was a 2014 BMA nominee for DVD of the year.

Preshow entertainment will be provided by the RMF Olivet Center for the Arts Guitar Club starting at 6:15 p.m.
