Connections and Disconnections, an exhibition by Star Wheel Printers

Reading, PA (July 7, 2017) – GoggleWorks Center for the Arts (GoggleWorks) is pleased to present Connections and Disconnections, an exhibition by Star Wheel Printers, in the Rolf & Renate Schmidt Gallery from July 7 through August 28, 2017.

Founding member, Nicole Patrice Dul explains, “This exhibition explores the idea of connections and disconnections. As artists, our work visually investigates, through abstraction and representation, our personal response to the world. Aware, or unaware, we identify and create connections and disconnections through both calculated and instinctive manipulation of materials, imagery, color, and composition.”

Star Wheel Printers a collective of professional artists that aims to support, promote and share printmaking with other artists and communities in the Philadelphia region. Star Wheel Printers acknowledges the area’s strong community of printmakers and presents a means to share their passion for relief, intaglio, planographic, and serigraphic printing. The collective seeks to engage dedicated emerging and professional artists by forging connections through collaborative projects, exhibitions, discussions, and a continued exchange of ideas. Star Wheel Printers seeks to foster and encourage an appreciation of printmaking by further educating each other and the community about this art form.

GoggleWorks will hold an opening reception for Connections and Disconnections in the Schmidt Gallery during Spotlight Night, on July 7th from 5:30-7:30pm. The evening will also include printmaking demonstrations and make-and-take activity in GoggleWorks’ recently launched printmaking studio. In addition, an artist talk by visiting artist and professional sign painter, AlyssaBeth Archumbault, will take place in the Boscov Film Theatre, starting at 5:30pm.
