WYOMISSING, Pa. – Customers Bank, a community-based, full-service bank with assets of approximately $9.9 billion, announces that David Patti has joined the bank as Special Assistant to the President.
Patti, a lifelong Berks County resident whose 30-year career in Harrisburg spans the highest levels of government, politics, and business leadership, will serve as Customers Bank’s advocate and lobbyist in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C. He will support President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Richard Ehst in the execution of the Bank’s efforts to acquire properties, secure economic development grants and loans, and interface with local officials and non governmental organizations (NGOs), while providing Customers Bank with expert guidance and strategy regarding other regional economic and community development opportunities.
In addition, Patti will spearhead the creation and launch of a non-profit foundation designed to advance Customers Bank’s community and economic development missions, and strengthen the Bank’s relationships in the communities it serves. In this role, Patti will assist Ehst with his work as the Chair of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry Education Foundation, interfacing with Chamber staff to develop strategies, programs, and supporting materials that advance the Bank’s commitment to quality public education and effective workforce development. Patti will also continue in his current role as a member of Governor Wolf’s Education & Workforce Development Advisory Council, seeking to advance the views of Customers Bank on those topics.

Prior to joining Customers Bank, Patti spent 14 years as the President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Business Council and one of its forerunners, Pennsylvanians for Effective Government. In this role, Dave worked with the largest employers in the Commonwealth.
Patti also worked as an executive for ActiveData Exchange, a Internet software firm, and served in the Ridge Administration as a Deputy Secretary of DCED and Chief Operating Officer of TeamPA. For nearly a decade, Patti was the President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council, a trade association representing more than 80 percent of the chemical manufacturing and distribution capacity in the state. He has also served in the Senate of Pennsylvania as the Executive Director of the Local Government Committee; as a policy analyst for economic development; and as the Communications Director for the state Republican Party.
