Congratulations to YMCA Child Care Center Staff

On Wednesday, July 12th, eight YMCA of Reading and Berks County childcare programs were recognized by the Northeast Region of Keystone STARS for their hard work and commitment to quality which has resulted in increased Keystone Stars ratings.  Each program and its leadership were praised for the initiative and dedication they put into achieving these milestones. It is the goal of the YMCA of Reading & Berks County to insure that all centers move from a STAR 3 to a STAR 4 rating which in the highest level of achievement in the STARS program. Currently the Wyomissing Hills School Age Child Care program is a STAR 4 and the Reading Branch and Leap & Learn Center in Fleetwood is on the way to a STAR 4.The celebration on July 12 wrapped up a Keystone Stars meeting held to discuss the new performance standards with local childcare leaders. The YMCA of Reading & Berks County is honored to have been asked to participate in a program that will pilot the new STARS guidelines for the State of Pennsylvania.
