WYOMISSING, PA – A large number of studies have been done on the relationships between people from different generations. In addition to the goal of breaking stereotypes about aging, the studies are seeking to measure the benefits of intergenerational friendships. One result – college students popping up all over the country and taking residence at continuing care retirement communities.

The Highlands at Wyomissing is excited to welcome two college students from Alvernia University for the 2017-2018 school year. The students will reside in a two bedroom apartment on campus. In exchange for free housing, both will be required to provide 12-16 hours per week of service, based on their major, to our residents. The students will be moving in on Sunday, August 13.

The Highlands at Wyomissing is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) offering residential apartments and villas, personal care, skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation and home care.
