Royals to Kick Off 17th Season With Historic Announcement at Town Hall Meeting

Question & Answer Open Forum Set For Tuesday, August 29, 6:30 PM at Stokesay Castle

Will Include a Wide Array of Participants and Activities Including an Appearance by an All-Time Great

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that the organization will host its annual Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, from 6:30 pm8:00 pm at Stokesay Castle (141 Stokesay Castle Lane, Reading, PA 19606; 610-375-6100).

It is expected that the Seventeenth Season of Purple Pride will kick off with an historic announcement and an appearance by one of the team’s all-time greats. The panel of participants in the open forum question and answer session is expected to include Philadelphia Flyers Assistant General Manager Barry Hanrahan, Royals’ Owner Jack Gulati, team Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Ray Melcher, Head Coach Kirk MacDonald, Assistant Coach Patrick Wellar, and Special Assistant to Hockey Operations Doug Yingst. We are also expecting a couple of the Royals’ players to be present for the night of activities.

As always, the Town Hall Meeting will address the topics raised by fans in attendance. Historically, the issues addressed have included the affiliation relationship with the Flyers, the current state of the ECHL, the Royals’ schedule, the team’s roster, pending player personnel decisions, the organization’s broadcast plans, and important elements in the promotional schedule. There will be an opportunity for autographs and photographs with several prizes available to be won by those in attendance.
