Fightins Announce “Stadium Fitness Challenge”

The Reading Fightin Phils have announced there will be a “Stadium Fitness Challenge” presented by Penn State Health St. Joseph, Corps Fitness and A Running Start on Saturday, October 14 from 1:30pm until 3:30pm.

The event will benefit the Baseballtown Dream League IM ABLE Adaptive Playground Project at the Savage 61 Dream Field.

At FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Reading Fightin Phils, competitors will compete on the field and throughout FirstEnergy Stadium in a mixture of CrossFit & Corps Fitness style events.  The fitness challenge will feature teams of 2 competitors.  Teams must consist of either 2 men or 2 women.  No co-ed teams will be accepted. 

THE FITNESS CHALLENGE WILL FEATURE FOUR PHASES:

1. Strength Portion – 2 different Olympic style weightlifting. One teammate will do one of the lifts while the other teammate does the other.  

2. Infield Base Running AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) – Each base will require a number of repetitions of a bodyweight exercise.  Teammates will move from base to base to perform the repetitions, trying to achieve as many complete “runs”/rounds in an 8:00 time period.

3. Warning Track Timed Obstacle Course – This will be a one-time-through obstacle course challenge for time.  The course will include climbing wall and other challenges.  This course will test for speed and agility.

4. Object Push/Pull/Carry Challenge – In this challenge, teammates will make their way around the farthest perimeter of the stadium through a series of push/pull and odd object carry challenges.  The end will be a stadium run, up and down the steps of the grandstand. 

Cost:

$90 per two person team (if registered by Saturday, September 30)$100 per two person team (if registered after Saturday, September 30)

Each team will receive:

Entry for 2 competitors into the competition2 competition t-shirts (shirt is guaranteed if you register by Friday, October 6, 2017)2 beer/drink vouchers

Following the fitness challenge, there will be The Fightin Phils Battle of the Band Competition from 4pm until 8pm.  Awards from the fitness challenge will be given during a break in the Battle of the Bands Competition.
