2017 PA Summit Conference

Have you ever wondered what type of planning, staging, and professionalism goes into our parks in Berks County?  Join us and over  300 other trail professionals, volunteers, enthusiasts, and advocates when the 2017 PA Greenways and Trails Summit comes to Reading for the first time; September 24-26th .  Learn from regional and state professionals on how parks here in Berks County are built, used and maintained.Put your boots on and become a member of PRPS, or just register for the day and participate in the many workshops or breakfasts, lunches or dinners that the Summit has to offer.  Some workshops include a bike ride on an internationally-acclaimed mountain biking trail, kayaking the vast Blue Marsh Lake, or go back in time, through a hike on the Union Canal Towpath and visit to the Berks County Heritage Center.   Also, you can take a tour of Mount Penn and visit Antietam Lake Park including (the Angora Fruit Farm) and all the new improvements made at that park. There is also an evening ghost tour through downtown Reading to wrap up the evening! Berks County Parks and Recreation department is proud to assist and be a sponsor in running several of the workshops taking place during the Pennsylvania Greenways and Trails Summit.  If you are not able to make the summit, keep us in mind for our other programs we offer within our parks.Registration is now open for the Summit: The complete registration guide, including a schedule of events, can be found online, at
