Berks Encore Announces New Director of Marketing & Communications

Reading, PA—Berks Encore recently named Lori Gerhart the Director of Marketing & Communications. Gerhart will lead the agency’s marketing and communications efforts, including special events and the monthly newsletter. Working closely with the president and the board, Gerhart will implement marketing and communications strategies for Berks Encore and their new strategic plan that was approved by the board in January.

“We are pleased to have Lori join Berks Encore as our Director of Marketing & Communications,” says LuAnn Oatman, President/CEO of Berks Encore. “Her experience in advertising and special events will give Berks Encore a boost as we continue to expand the brand and promote the many program offerings available to the seniors in our community.”

Gerhart comes to Berks Encore most recently from the Reading Eagle where she served with the sales team and their local, regional and national advertising customers to create marketing solutions through Reading Eagle Company products and services. In her most recent position as Multimedia Sales Manager, she worked with the team to create packages that included WEEU radio, digital and print options. Whether working as an advertising customer service rep, territory account rep, classified or retail sales manager or overseeing the entire ad department –her focus was on providing results-driven solutions for the customer.

“Berks Encore plays a very valuable role in the local community,” says Gerhart. “I look forward to building on the brand that has been established for Berks Encore and increasing our exposure within the community.”

Gerhart is a Penn State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Communications in Advertising. She graduated from Conrad Weiser high school, where her daughter now teaches high school math. Her son, an IST major, is finishing his senior year at Penn State, University Park.
