The Bunny Brothers: Lost in the Woods – Meet the Author   

Saturday, October 14

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Join us for a book reading of The Bunny Brothers: Lost in the Woods by

author Dori Hoch www.dorihoch.com. Also enjoy a craft and guided trail walk with Nolde staff.  Learn about the fall forest and safety rules to avoid getting lost in the woods.  Author will be available for book signing and book sales.  Program in McConnell Education Hall.

Hands-on Herbarium   

Thursday, October 26

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Learn about the history of collecting preserved plant samples for scientific reference and as an art form.  View some samples from the Nolde Forest collection prepared by Hans Wilkens in the 1970’s. Create your own take-home piece with instruction.  Registration required, limited space.  Program in McConnell Education Hall.

Day of the Dead      

Saturday, October 28

5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Explore this Mexican cultural holiday and discover what you can learn.  Educational centers set up around the Nolde Mansion to sample food, make a take home craft, learn about extinct and endangered animals, compare skulls and bones of various animals, create some nature journaling, and search for shining eyes outdoors.  No registration needed.  Walk in anytime and stay as long as you like.  Event for all ages.
