Planning for the future of BARTA services

The South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is developing a Transit Development Plan (TDP) for fixed-route bus and paratransit services, including BARTA services in Berks County. The TDP will serve as a guide for meeting future demands for transit services and increasing the overall use of public transit. Development of TDP involves:

Identifying demographics and travel trendsEvaluating current BARTA servicesEstablishing goals and strategies to address unmet transit needs and services issuesIdentifying and evaluating opportunities for potential growth, such as bus service connecting the cities of Lancaster and ReadingProviding recommendations and an implementation plan to improve transit services and meet future needs

You are invited to an Open House Public Meeting to provide your input on BARTA’s existing services and future goals. We hope you will join us on Monday, November 13, 2017, anytime between 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the BARTA Transportation Center (BTC), 8th & Cherry Streets, Reading, PA 19602. The meeting will be an open house format, so feel free to stop by as your schedule permits to review materials and provide comments. Please post and distribute the attached flyer for the meeting with other members of the community.

The Public Meetings are an Open House format for citizens to visit at their convenience. If citizens are unable to attend the Public Meetings, they can submit their comments and suggestions in writing to South Central Transit Authority, 45 Erick Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 or via email at [email protected].
