Studio B Fine Art Gallery announces a $5,000 donation from the James K. and Nancy Lang Boyer Family Fund

Studio B Fine Art Gallery, 39A East Philadelphia Avenue in Boyertown, PA, announces a $5,000 donation from the James K. and Nancy Lang Boyer Family Fund of Berks County Community Foundation.

“Nancy has been an on-going supporter from ‘Day 1’ for the mission and efforts of Studio B,” noted Jane Stahl, Studio B Fine Art Gallery’s Director of Community Relations. “Even though she no longer resides in Boyertown, I believe that her donation represents her belief in our mission and her desire to see us continue to promote local artists and provide opportunities for members of her beloved Boyertown community to participate in the arts and enjoy one another’s company.”

Studio B Fine Art Gallery has begun its 10th year of operation. Throughout its history the studio has mounted over 100 exhibits and has served over 600 artists and over 300 students since its premiere exhibit in December 2008.

In October 2008, funding offered by Berks County Community Foundation (BCCF) through Building a Better Boyertown (BBB) paid the studio’s rent for the year and allowed Studio B to open its doors. Since then, yearly grants of $5,000 through 2016 have facilitated the studio’s efforts. In 2017, BBB’s $5,000 donation for operating expenses was accepted gratefully with the knowledge that, in going forward, the studio must be self-sustaining.

Since then, the studio has enhanced its pursuit of funding from corporate sponsors, grants, and donations and welcomes opportunities to meet with interested donors and potential sponsors of exhibits or artists. “We’re always on the look out for our ‘angel investor’ so that we can provide even greater opportunities for participation in the arts in our community,” noted Stahl.

The studio acknowledges donors who offer $250 or more by placing their name(s) on a ceiling beam in the studio. The “Beamers Club” showcases individuals and organizations whose funding has been integral to the studio’s survival. To date, the names of 52 individuals or organizations are noted on a ceiling beam. The names of new members of the studio’s “Beamers Club” will be visible during the opening of the exhibit “Twinkle,” December 1, 2017.

Donations to Studio B are tax deductible; Studio B is the home of the Arts and Activities Alliance, a committee of Building a Better Boyertown, a 501c3 organization.
