Reading-based adoption agency, A Baby Step Adoption celebrated National Adoption Month with a party for eight families who finalized their adoptions at the Berks County Courthouse on November 28, 2017. The party was also a surprise for the honorable Judge Grim, the adoption advocate who has performed over 1,000 adoptions for the agency and is an adoptive father himself.
The Berks Senior Judge will retire at the end of 2017, and at the celebration, he was given a tribute book featuring photos and messages from over 50 of the forever families he’s helped create from Barbara Casey, director of Reading-based A Baby Step Adoption Agency. Visibly choked up, he talked about how incredible the gift of adoption is to the children who are adopted in loving families. Also recognized at the event was Linda Carlson, caseworker and paralegal who has been with the agency for over two decades.
The day was special and memorable for everyone involved especially the eight families who have their baby just in time for the holidays.
