Rowles Earns MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Albright men’s basketball player Fred Rowles earned MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week honors for his play in a pair of Albright victories last week, including a win over previously unbeaten and 25th-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Friday night.

Rowles averaged 16.5 points, 10 rebounds, 2.5 steals and two assists per game. Rowles had a breakout game to end the week in a 79-63 win against No. 25 F&M. Rowles recorded a season-high 23 points with a career-high 13 rebounds and a career-best five steals. He shot 9-of-16 from the field and added three assists in the win. His 23 points were one point off his career-best mark. Rowles opened the week with 10 points, seven rebounds, a block and an assist in an 83-78 win over Widener to remain undefeated in conference action.

Rowles is the second-straight Albright player to win the conference’s weekly award following DeJuan Smith‘s selection last week. The Lions return to action against Wilkes on Dec. 19.
