Kids Helping Kids!

During this holiday season, the children of Jacksonwald Elementary School in the Exeter Township School District have been collecting new toys, books, clothes and other gifts for the children of Safe Berks.

These gifts will be delivered to Safe Berks and will help bring joy to children staying in the Safe House over the holidays. The children who collected the gifts are in grades K-4.

More than 400 children stayed in the Safe House during the last fiscal year.

This Kids Helping Kids donation drive was organized by the Jacksonwald Association of Parents & Teachers (APT). The gifts will be delivered by Alexis Luckhart and Danielle Seibert, co-chairs of the donation drive.

“The APT has been collecting toys for a charity each year,” said Luckhart. “This year we wanted to focus on giving back at the local level, and support our community. We reach out to the students and their families to provide donations, and the students also have the opportunity to turn in their ‘Golden Dollars’ – rewards they receive for good behavior at school – and the APT matches that dollar amount in additional donations.”
