Twin Valley High School’s Student Council “Season of Giving” is underway

Every year, Twin Valley High School’s Student Council has our “Season of Giving” during the months of November – January. At the start of November, TVHS Student Council members sell paper pilgrims for a dollar, and each pilgrim sold equates to $20.00 worth of food for the Greater Berks County Food Bank. This year, the students were able to sell over 800 pilgrims. Another facet of our Season of Giving are the Angel Tree Tags for the Salvation Army. Angel Tree Tags are a small slip of paper with the gifts a child in need wants for Christmas. TVHS Students and staff can take an Angel Tree Tag and purchase the gifts on the tag for the child. Then, in December, TVHS Student Council members go the the Salvation Army, deliver the gifts, and have a day of volunteering.

Additionally, TVHS Student Council will also be helping the organization Veterans Making a Difference. This organization helps veterans in need by visiting veterans that are at risk of losing their homes, or veterans living in shelters, and offers them emotional and financial support. TVHS will be holding a schoolwide donation drive to help supply veterans with necessities to assist them during the cold winter months.

If you have any questions about these initiatives, please contact the TVHS Student Council Adviser Ms. Tiffany Witman at [email protected]
