The Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce announces Board Officers for 2018

Kutztown, PA…The Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce, Kutztown, announces new officers for 2018.  President Dustin Adam, Edward Jones, Fleetwood; 1st Vice-President & Treasurer John L. Scott, Community First Fund; and Heather Uczynski, Leading Edge Business Consulting, Leesport began a one-year term on January 12, 2018.

Dustin Adam is a Hamburg native who began working for Edward Jones in 2013 after graduating with a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Lebanon Valley College. Initially, Adam worked at the Edward Jones Headquarters in St. Louis, MO, managing branches in transition for a year before returning home to Berks County to open his own branch in 2014. His office is located on the Main Street of Fleetwood.  Within his firm, Adam acts as a Growth Leader regionally, as well as a Mentor and a Field Trainer.

Locally, Adam is involved with the Huguenot Masonic Lodge and has been involved with the Hamburg division of the Jaycees.  He serves in a Director role at the Lenhartsville Fish & Game Association.  Recently, Adam co-founded an outdoor organization called Berks County Bowmen.  His active participation within the Northeast Berks Chamber has included roles as Director and as member of the Finance Committee, Business Development Task Force, Membership Committee, and the Ambassadors.

John L. Scott is currently Vice President of Community Lending for Community First Fund in Northern Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties.  Scott has over 15 years of financial services experience, including positions with PNC Bank, Santander Bank, and Citizens Bank. Scott lives by the moto, ‘do unto to others as you would have them do unto to you’; his hope is that he can assist the community in growing and prospering by helping all people and organizations achieve their financial goals.

Besides his ten-year active membership in the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce, Scott is also a member of the Allentown West Rotary Club, where he serves as Foundation Chair and is Worshipful Master at Huguenot Lodge No. 377 F&AM in Kutztown, PA. He also volunteers for Live Learn & Play, an Autism support and sensory gym located in the South Mall in Allentown (Board member).  Prior to this, he served as President of Kutztown Community Partnership and was also a past board member of the Tri-Valley YMCA branch board in Fleetwood. From 2013-2016, he served on the Audit Advisory Committee for Lower Macungie Township. 

Scott studied business and finance at Kutztown University. He is also a 2011-2012 fellow for the Center for Progressive Leadership where he studied leadership development.

John L. Scott is a native of the Lehigh Valley and is enjoying raising his son Whitman and daughter Addysen with his wife Mercedes in Upper Milford Township, Lehigh County. His hobbies include electronics tinkering, photography, astrophotography, website development, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Founder of Leading Edge Business Consulting, Heather Uczynski is a business psychologist and executive coach.  She holds an undergraduate degree in Speech Broadcasting from Penn State and a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University.

Uczynski helps organizations solve employee issues that can interfere with productivity and profitability, such as high turnover, inexperienced managers, and workplace conflicts.  She has developed expertise in the field of Emotional Intelligence, which helps her to advise organizations on hiring and promotion decisions.  For nearly eight years, Uczynski has been actively involved in the Northeast Berks Chamber, especially in support of fundraising efforts and committees, including Shining Star, Casino Night, and the 1st Chamber Dinner, and Membership and Ambassadors.  Currently, she is serving her second year as Board Secretary.

The mission of Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce is to be a resource and a voice for its members (and those who are not yet members) in Northeast Berks County.  Membership currently numbers 245.
