It’s Time for a Heart to Heart … at Reading Hospital Educational Event

Reading Hospital will hold its annual Heart to Heart event on Sunday, February 11, beginning at 11:30 a.m., at the Crowne Plaza Reading Hotel, 1741 Papermill Road, Wyomissing. This fun and informative event includes educational exhibits, excellent food, chocolate, wine and an opportunity to interact with a panel of Reading Hospital experts.

Prior to the panel discussion, guests are invited to browse educational exhibits; enjoy a delicious buffet lunch; learn Hands-Only CPR and how to use an AED; and participate in Heart Healthy exercise, including Dance for Wellness and Tai Chi.

The program will begin at 1 p.m. with a video simulation of a cardiac event and the importance of calling 9-1-1. The panel discussion, which begins at 1:15 p.m., will include Eric Elgin, MD, Chief, Section of Cardiology; Jared Green, DO, Director, Heart Failure; Christine McCarty, MD, Chief, Cardiothoracic Surgery; and Amy Bausher, PhD, leader of the Reading Hospital Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program. The panelists will discuss heart health and answer questions from the audience. The event will end with door prizes and closing remarks at 2:45 p.m.
