Trail Feasibility Study

Boyertown, PA – Boyertown Borough, along with the support of Building A Better Boyertown, has been awarded a Trail Feasibility Study matching grant in the amount of $70,000 though the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, to prepare a trail study for the development of approximately six miles of the Secret Valley Trail in Boyertown Borough, and Douglass Township, Berks County and Upper Pottsgrove Township to connect to the Tri County Trail Systems in Pottstown Borough in Montgomery County.

Along with the Manatawny Trail in Montgomery County, the Secret Valley Trail could link Boyertown and nearby communities to Pottstown and the Schuylkill River Trail, creating one of the most important and beautiful trails in the Schuylkill River Heritage Area.

The Borough of Boyertown has hired Campbell Thomas & Company in collaboration with Gilmore & Associates, Inc. to prepare this study and written, bound report.  The first kick-off meeting with the steering committee was held on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 in the Building A Better Boyertown office.  There will be public meetings conducted in the next six months beginning in April for community input in preparation for the study.
