Reading, PA – Reading Distilling Guild’s white rum has been awarded a bronze medal at the Fifth Annual ACSA Distillers Convention and Trade Show at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown in Pittsburgh, PA.  Winners were hand-selected among a pool of 500 entrants from 38 states and the District of Columbia in six main categories: Whiskey, Gin, Rum, Vodka & Grain Spirits, Brandy and Specialty Spirits.

The annual Awards marked the official close of the 2018 ACSA Distillers Convention and Trade Show, which attracted over 1,000 producers and suppliers from across the U.S. for two full days of educational and networking events.

The ACSA prides itself as one of the most valuable judging competitions in the industry.   Spirits were scored on appearance, aroma intensity, aroma complexity, palate concentration, palate complexity, body, character and nature of alcohol, texture, and finish. Finally, each judge was asked if they would pour the spirit for a peer.

Reading Distilling Guild is Berks County’s first craft distillery, producing small-batch spirits.  Reading Rum, available in two varieties; white and spiced, are the first products to be manufactured by Reading Distilling Guild, and are available at establishments in and around the Berks County.  Reading Distilling Guild also participates in local festivals and events.  Look for them at an event near you soon! Reading Distilling Guild is owned and operated by Reading native Christopher Flowers.  Good Times!
