ANNVILLE, Pa. – Three Albright Lions softball players earned MAC Commonwealth All-Conference honors, announced by the conference on May 2. Junior Stephany Courtney was selected to the Second Team, while sophomores Jessica Rodriguez and Camille Sears garnered Honorable Mention honors.
Courtney earns All-Conference honors for the first time in her Albright career after she led the team and set a new career high with a .354 batting average, while matching her career high in RBIs with 11. She finished the regular season strong by tallying a .458 batting average behind four multi-hit contests in the Lions last eight games. Courtney was also solid in the field by tallying a .973 fielding percentage at second base.
Rodriguez tallied All-Conference honors as an outfielder for the first time in her career by ranking second on the team with a .346 batting average, 12 runs scored, and posted 27 hits. She was at her best at the plate during the last two weeks of the season where she registered five multi-hit contests in nine games. Playing primarily in the outfield, Rodriguez did not commit a single error during the season.
Sears earned All-Conference honors at utility behind her efforts in the circle pitching, while setting new career highs in hitting as well. She led the team and tied for seventh in the conference with four home runs, while ranking second on the team with 17 RBIs. In the circle, Sears led the team and ranked 10th in the conference with 10 wins and pitched five complete games on the season. She earned the win in the Lions last four victories of the season.
