Reading Public Library Sponsoring Summer Teen Writing Workshops

Writing Workshop

Reading, PA  –   Reading Public Library is partnering with the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) and Dollar General Literacy Foundation to provide free teen writing workshops throughout the summer.  The workshops will be held at the RPL Teen Loft, Main Library, 100 S. 5th St., from 11 am to 2 pm with lunch provided.  Dates and topics are as follows:

Thursday, June 28    –  Motivos Magazine Ekphrastic Poetry by founder Jenee Chizrick-Aguero (register by June 18)

Monday, July 16      –   Q&A and writing prompts by author Katelyn Detweiler (register by July 9)

Monday, August 6    –   Make your own comics with artist and author Jean Esther (register by July 30)

Registration is required for each workshop and seating is limited.  Register by stopping by the Teen Loft, 100 S. 5th St., calling 610-655-6350 ext. 241 or via email to [email protected]

Reading Public Library will hold a writing contest throughout the summer open to all teens in the Reading School District.  Participation in the workshops is encouraged but not required to participate in the contest.
