“The White Caps of Pearl Harbor”

“The White Caps of Pearl Harbor”

“The White Caps of Pearl Harbor” will be the topic of the June 9th Second Saturday Veterans Program at the Wyomissing Public Library. The program will begin at 1 PM and is open to the public. There is no charge, but registration is requested.

Teresa Stauffer Foster was one of 524 nurses stationed at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Her daughter, Winifred Woll, will tell the story of her mother and the hundreds of other women who cared for those who were wounded in the attack that ushered the United States into World War II. Stories about the women who served are seldom told, and Woll makes it a point to talk about the women who were pioneers at the start of the war, members of the Greatest Generation who have been forgotten.

The Wyomissing Public Library is located at 9 Reading Boulevard in Wyomissing. For information visit www.wyopublib.org or call 610-374-2385.
