Chambers Stepping Down as Executive Director of United Community Services

It is with regret that United Community Services announces the resignation of Executive Director Ashley Chambers, effective July 13.

Chambers came to UCS after just graduating from Albright College in 2008. She has since held several roles including In-School Program Manager, Director of Programs, eventually becoming our Executive Director in 2015.

Chambers chose to stay in Reading to make a difference and has done so through her work with UCS and service in the community. While we are sad to see Ashley leave the organization, we wish her the best of luck in her new role as Children and Youth Services Director with Congreso de Latinos Unidos in Philadelphia. We know that she will take her ten years of experience with United Community Services and truly make an impact in all of her future endeavors. The Board wishes to thank Ashley for her service and leadership.

The Board has appointed Micki Reese, to serve as Interim Director and lead the organization through a strategic planning process. During this transition period, our priority is to ensure continuity of services to our students and partner organizations while determining the next steps for United Community Services. Following the strategic planning process, we will have identified what we are looking for in our next Executive Director and will begin a search to fill the position.
