Fightin Phils Stand Up to Cancer 2018

The Reading Fightin Phils will be holding a Stand Up to Cancer Night on Tuesday, July 31 at 7:15 p.m. against the Trenton Thunder.  The first 2,000 adults will receive a Darren Daulton Stand Up To Cancer Bobble Head courtesy of RICK LINN Attorneys at Law.  The former Reading Phillies and Philadelphia Phillies catcher passed away from brain cancer on August 6, 2017.

“The law firm of RICK LINN, LLC, is proud to announce the firm’s sponsorship of the Darren Daulton Stand Up to Cancer Night and the commemorative bobblehead”, said Charles Rick of RICK LINN Attorneys at Law.  “This cause holds special meaning for the firm because we are all affected by cancer in some way and we are further connected to this cause because one of our attorneys is a four-time cancer survivor. Groups like Stand up to Cancer give us hope that someday there will be even more survivors, as cancer becomes a disease seen only in history books.”

Stand Up to Cancer’s mission is to raise funds to accelerate the pace of groundbreaking translational research that can get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now. Stand Up to Cancer has set out to generate awareness, educate the public on cancer prevention and help more people diagnosed with cancer become long-term survivors.

“I’m a cancer survivor and excited for this night”, said Sandra Liberatori of RICK LINN Attorneys at Law.  “I was diagnosed in 1983 with Hodkin’s Lymphoma.  The next three (endometrial, breast and kidney) were probably as a result of my treatment (radiation) for the first one, but they really can never know that for sure. Many of HL survivors have secondary cancers and other problems.  I feel super lucky to have a very dedicated and careful team at Penn (same oncologist for over 30 years) and so they catch these problems very early.”

There will be an appearance by former Reading Phillies and Philadelphia Phillies Mickey Morandini and Larry Bowa with a free autograph session in support of Darren Daulton Stand Up to Cancer Night.  Morandidni and Bowa will be signing autographs in the plaza from 7:15 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

There will be an auction throughout the game benefitting Stand Up To Cancer.
