Humane Pennsylvania’s Performance Toyota Walk for the Animals & Walktoberfest

Reading, PA – We are excited to announce Humane Pennsylvania’s 41st Annual Performance Toyota Walk for the Animals & Walktoberfest will be held at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, PA on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

The Walk is Humane Pennsylvania’s premier family and pet-friendly event. Parking and entry to the Walk is free. However, this event is intended to raise vital funds to help homeless, abused, abandoned and neglected animals in southeastern PA. By pre-registering for the Walk and raising sponsorship funds supporters will make a life and death difference for thousands of animals! Last year, approximately 1,500 Walkers raised $100,000. This year, we’re hoping that community members can help us raise even more funds for the animals.

This year’s Walk is sponsored by the caring team at Performance Toyota who believe in our mission to empower people in our communities to increase their capacity to care for animals so that all animals are healthy, safe, and treated humanely.

“Performance Toyota continues to be impressed with the growth and positive impact Humane Pennsylvania has on our community. Their nationally accredited animal hospitals provides affordable health care to pet owners and shelter animals alike so that all animals can live long and healthy lives.  In addition, their exceptional community programs are systematically reducing animal suffering throughout Berks County.  We are thrilled to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s Walk for Animals & Walktoberfest and we encourage pet owners to attend the festivities and take advantage of the free microchipping clinic available on site.  This year’s event promises to be the best walk ever.  We hope to see you there!” – Karen Linder, Charitable Giving Coordinator, Performance Toyota

Also new this year, Humane Pennsylvania will be partnering with the Reading Fightin Phils to offer a FREE veterinary clinic. The clinic will provide community members with free care for their dogs including microchip services and rabies vaccines. From 11:00am – 3:00pm, multiple veterinarians will be available at multiple clinic stations, each focused on the goal of microchipping and vaccinating as many dogs as possible in the time available. These services are made possible thanks to the support and generosity of The Giorgi Family Foundation.

This animal wellness clinic is the first in many healthcare fairs that will be offered by Humane Pennsylvania in the coming months.

“The need to provide accessible pet wellness services to our community is clear,” said Karel Minor, CEO of Humane Pennsylvania. Last year we held serval free vet clinics and attendance was extremely high. The community’s interest in these events proved our hypothesis for the demand of pet wellness services. We know the impact we want to have in the lives of local families and their animals will require us to strive for more support than ever before. We are excited to surpass expectations.”

As our largest fundraising event, the Walk attracts thousands of participants annually and is supported by animal lovers and their friends across the nation and around the globe. Featuring live music, vendors and activities for the whole family, the Walk is a day-long opportunity to for diehard supporters to connect and show their passion for the animals we serve.
