Exelon Generation’s Limerick Generating Station Hosts Community Information Night

Learn how Philadelphia-area nuclear power plant produces clean, reliable energy for two million homes

POTTSTOWN, PA — Ever wonder how nuclear power is generated or how a nuclear power plant works? If you attend Exelon Generation’s Community Information Night, you’ll find answers to these questions and many more. You’ll also see firsthand how the Limerick Generating Station is safely producing energy to power nearly two million area homes. The free event will be held at Limerick Generating Station on Thursday, August 30 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Plant employees will be on hand to discuss plant operations, environmental stewardship, radiological safety, emergency preparedness and much more. Visitors also can tour the station’s control room simulator, which is used for training reactor operators. Petrucci’s Ice Cream will provide free tasty treats. Members of the public may register online by visiting https://lgscommunitynight2018.eventbrite.com. Registration is requested, but not required to attend the event.

Community Information Nights are an important part of Exelon Generation’s annual public information and outreach campaign, designed to engage and educate the public on plant operations. Throughout the year, our employees are active in the community through volunteering, hosting tours, visiting area schools, appearing at community events and financially supporting dozens of civic and charitable organizations.

Limerick Generating Station is a nuclear power plant located approximately 21 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The plant produces enough carbon-free electricity to power two million homes.
