Albright College’s Free Concerts at the Pond Series Kicks Off Sept. 5

Reading, PA – Albright College and WXAC 91.3 FM announce the lineup for a free Concert Series at the Pond this fall, kicking off with the Bobby Newton Band, Sept 5. All pond series concerts are held at Albright’s Sylvan Pond from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and are open to the public.

Sept. 5

The Bobby Newton Band

Artist Bobby Newton, “Mr. Togetherness,” has performed R&B, funk, and jazz classics with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Wilson Pickett. Bring your dancing shoes!

Sept. 12

Better Than Before

Albright alumnus Daniel Bross ’14 offers a mix of pop and traditional American folk music with a millennial sensibility. 

Sept. 19

Los Fantasticos

This seven piece orchestra features the music of Cuba and Puerto Rico in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Band Director Eli Velazquez will enhance the performance with a short discussion on the historical and cultural significance of the music.

Sept. 26

Albright’s Got Chops

Albright musical groups, including the Albright Angels, Mane Men, Reading Samba School and the Big Cat Jazz Band showcase short selections from the coming season.
