Caltagirone to host free shred event Sept. 8

READING, PA – State Rep. Tom Caltagirone will host a free document shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 8 in an effort to protect the personal information and identities of constituents.

This event will be held at Tom Masano Auto Retailers, 841 E. Wyomissing Blvd., in Reading. Participants are encouraged to bring unneeded paper items that contain personal information, which includes old bills, outdated medical records, cancelled checks, or any other documents that include personal data to be properly shredded and recycled securely.

“Shredding your personal documents can help you keep your identity safe and keep hazards out of your home,” Caltagirone said. “This is an opportunity to prevent a personal breach of your information and properly dispose of unwanted paper.”

There is a five box or bag limit, and residents must remove all paper clips before disposal can begin.

Anyone with questions should call Caltagirone’s office at 610-376-1529.
