Exeter May Days Community Festival September 9 – Battle of the Badges, and Famous Greaseband

Exeter May Days Community Festival September 9 – Battle of the Badges, and Famous Greaseband

Let’s try this yet again!

A Community Committee has formed to host an event called the Exeter May Days Community Festival. The remaining events will take place this Sunday, September 9 at 3pm on the campus of Exeter High School. All proceeds will go to the Exeter Community Education Foundation (ECEF), a non-profit dedicated to enhancing the education of students in the Exeter School District. http://www.exetereducationfoundation.org/

The committee’s mission is to increase funding and awareness for ECEF and support the youth in our community by expanding on some of the older traditions of Exeter May Days and enhancing this event so that it is exciting for both students and the community. We would love for everyone to come out as we pay tribute to service men and women. Although some momentum was lost due to the reschedule we are proud of the exciting finale we have planned now entering it’s 8th month of planning!

The finale will include:

• Live Entertainment – The Fabulous Greaseband

• Food and drink for sale provided by the Exeter H.S. Boys Soccer Club

• Helicopter flyover and landing

• Community Support Award honors Olivia Enslin

• Battle of the Badges Soccer Game

• Exeter Sophomore Chloe Marturano singing the National Anthem

Battle of the Badges Community Tribute to Service – A special soccer game will be played as a Thank You to all those who continue to serve the Community. The game will be played in honor of Officer Wertz, Wise, Deputy Pagerly and CW2 Yoder.

MUST SEE Main Event at 6:15 – The highly celebrated Fabulous Greaseband make their debut at Exeter Township. This is a once in a lifetime special event performance you cannot miss. The one and only Fabulous Greaseband are an act you can’t miss! If it rains this event will move indoors.

Community Support Award Olivet Boys & Girls Club’s Co-Youth of the Year, Muhlenberg H.S. graduate Olivia Enslin will receive yet another award for her community work – the Berks Hometown Hero Community Support Award. The award will honor Olivia for her volunteer efforts such as helping others in need, community service, good stewardship and volunteer work.

We would like to Thank the community members that came together to form the committee who put forth all the effort and planning to bring this event together. It has been overwhelming by how enthusiastic the committee has been despite the challenge of a rain date. The Committee envisions this event will continue to connect students, business and the community together. We are proud to have raised over $2500 for ECEF and $1300 in student achievement awards. We are also thrilled to continue to help all the academic and athletic clubs of the School District by having them host a stand as part of the Festival. We are proud of the foundation we have built this year and look forward to other exciting events in the future!
