Yerger Named New Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach at Albright

Albright Co-Directors of Athletics, Rick Ferry and Janice Luck, named Kristin Yerger the new men’s and women’s cross country head coach at Albright College.

“I would like to thank Rick Ferry and Janice Luck for the opportunity to lead the cross country programs,” Yerger said. “I am excited to get started and build on the past success that has already been established within the programs.”

Yerger has coached softball for two different schools at The Hill School and Oley Valley High School in addition to being the head coach for a travel softball team for nine years. She originally earned a scholarship to play softball at Rutgers before transferring to West Chester. Yerger graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS of Education at West Chester. She then earned her Masters of Classroom Technology from Wilkes following her time at West Chester.

Yerger currently serves as a 6th grade ELA teacher in the Fleetwood Area School District. She is married to Albright football defensive coordinator, Randy Yerger, and has two children. Their daughter Brooke currently is a member of the Albright softball and field hockey teams, while their son Wyatt currently plays football and lacrosse in the Boyertown Area School District.

In addition to being the head cross country coach at Albright, Yerger will serve as the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field coach under head coach Deneen Ebling.
