Reading, PA – Albright College will host Evelyn Farkas, Ph.D., on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m., in Memorial Chapel, as she presents “America and the Crisis of World Order: Back to the 19th Century — and War?” This 39th Annual Leo Camp Memorial Lecture is free and open to the public and sponsored by Albright College and the Jewish Federation of Reading.
Evelyn N. Farkas, Ph.D., is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, and a national security analyst for NBC and MSNBC. For her Leo Camp lecture, she will discuss international relations in the Trump Era, and examine major challenges and threats in today’s world.
Before her work on conventional arms control and international policy towards Russia, the Black Sea, Balkans and Caucasus regions, Farkas served as senior adviser to the supreme allied commander of Europe and special adviser to the secretary of defense for the NATO Summit.
For more than 20 years, she has worked on policies related to peace and stability operations such as terrorism, counter narcotics, homeland defense and export control policy. An election observer in Afghanistan in 2009, Farkas is widely published, speaks Hungarian and German, and has studied French, Spanish, Russian, Serbo-Croatian and Hindi.
Leo Camp lectures, established at Albright by the Jewish Federation of Reading are presented annually to illuminate and explore topics of significance in Jewish culture that add to the enrichment of the entire Reading community. They serve as a lasting tribute to humanitarian, and respected business and community leader, Leo Camp. Camp exemplified his belief that community service was more an opportunity than an obligation, and he placed a high priority on education and the acquisition of knowledge.
