Gubernatorial Candidates Respond to Survey Regarding Issues of Importance to Municipalities

HARRISBURG, PA — The Pennsylvania Municipal League, a non-partisan association dedicated to strengthening, empowering and advocating for effective local government, reached out to Gubernatorial Candidates Governor Tom Wolf and State Senator Scott Wagner to obtain their stances on issues of importance to Pennsylvania municipalities. The goal of the survey is to provide valuable insight into the positions of the candidates.

The relationship between local and state government is critical to our Commonwealth form of government. We hope the survey strengthens that relationship as we need safe, sustainable, viable communities in which to live, work, play and raise families.

“As the 2018 Midterm Elections approach, we want to share the results of our recent Gubernatorial Candidate Questionnaire. Both Governor Wolf and State Senator Wagner responded to our questions regarding a wide range of issues important to Pennsylvania municipalities,” said League Executive Director Richard Schuettler. “Serving as a bipartisan association in Harrisburg, we thought it was important to share their answers on key questions like reforming municipal pensions, local preemption, fighting blight, addressing infrastructure needs and greater tax flexibility.”
