Instructions for submitting video content to BCTV

Dec 14, 2018

If you are producing a program or content submission on your own and unrelated to a regular BCTV program to be played on BCTV:

Please note: If you have the video uploaded to YouTube, you may simply send the YouTube link!

Option 1: You may submit file formats such as .mov, or .mp4, but we will need those files at least two business days ahead of time so that they may be converted into the format used in our video server. These files should be delivered by DropBox or a similar file sharing option as most videos are too large to be delivered via email.

Option 2: You may deliver it to us on a Standard DVD video (this is not a file on a disc – it is usually created with a DVD authoring program such as DVD Studio Pro, Roxio Toast or iDVD).

Option 3: If you have some technical knowledge and a program that can create various types of video files, we can get you the technical requirements on request to make an “MPEG2 program stream” file appropriate to be directly loaded into our video server.

If you have any questions feel free to contact us.  We are happy to help or give suggestions. Producers, hosts, and guests planning to use videos during a live or taped studio program should consult with the Program Manager for options. Please see article ‘Tips on Shooting, Editing & Reminders about Using Video on a BCTV Program
