Scerbo Garners All-ECAC Second Team Honors

Kyra Scerbo

DANBURY, Conn. – Albright Lions field hockey defender Kyra Scerbo was named to the Division III All-ECAC Second Team, announced on Dec. 12 by the Organization.

The accolade comes just over a month after she was named to the All-MAC Commonwealth First Team as a defender. Scerbo started in all 17 games she played for the Lions in 2018. She registered a career-high nine defensive saves on the season and helped the Lions post four shutouts on the season. Three of her defensive saves came against #2 ranked Messiah in early October. Scerbo used her stout defensive play by finding ways to shut down any possible breakaways and odd-man rushes that opponents threw at the Lions this past season.

In addition to her defense, Scerbo, a junior, recorded her first collegiate point when she posted an assist against Widener in late October. Scerbo becomes the first Lions player to earn All-ECAC honors since Cassidy Barrow did following the 2016 season.
